I was disappointed in how unrepresentative the photos inside are. The descriptions are well written and accurate but for identification it's hit and miss. I know that isn't the purpose of the book, per se, but there were a couple photos where the specimens shown were so far off that I was wondering if they published the wrong picture with the stone description. Many crystals look different, or too similar to other stones when they are tumbled. It would be helpful if the illustrations had examples of both tumbled and rough crystals.
The book mentions Cinnabar and fails to mention that cinnabar is hugely, HUGELY toxic. The book makes no mention of this, which I feel is a HUGE disservice to its readers especially people who are using this as a very basic foray into learning about crystals. Crystal/mineral toxicity should be a MUST-HAVE in imparting information.It doesn't help matters that some stones share names (there's also a Dragon Blood Jasper). Clearing up confusing misidentifications would have made this book so much stronger. I got better identification info through Google and searching through images, sadly. It's a nice-looking book, but information is sometimes misleading and incorrect, sadly.
The best crystal book since Melody's! Photos of crystals is tough to get these are awesome and love how Judy breaks it out mental, spiritual, emotional and physical plus other items of note, plus the actual facts about the stone, hardness, where it comes from. Judy Hall rocks!
I highly recommend this book. I am one that has had a history of not only collecting, finding, also them finding me and being able to enrich my existence with their presence. It is good to know what exactly do they do and how they can help not only us but the entire planet. Has detailed information on hardness , Information on the attributes, healing, appearance, and if it’s known by any other name.
informative if you have no idea about crystals and want to get into it without a bunch of complicated information.
Clear and concise information about crystals! Everything you would need to know about each stone. I definitely will buy her other volumes
Excellent, comprehensive information. The only issue is the hard copy version is made with very heavy paper making to book too heavy to carry around. The ebook solves that problem though. I keep all 3 ebooks on my phone and tablets.
