A suggestion....Any future editions of this book should be renamed "Avanti The Manufacturing Story".Hull brings together the various lives of the Avanti, a story that spans no less than five decades, four production factories and enough owners and principals to fill several of the fiberglass luxury cars.The book traces the history of the Raymond Lowey designed coupe from its inception as a potential savior /image car for the venerable Studebaker company to its latest incarnation as a Mustang re-clothed in body panels that manage to be both retro and futuristic at the same time.Hull knows his subject well as a one time CFO for the latest resurrection effort and as the editor of the Avanti club magazine. He does a commendable job in putting the pieces together. Minor criticisms include not using many direct quotes from important figures. Hull paraphrases a magazine interview (which he references) with #3 Avanti owner Stephen Blake and a panel discussion by owner #4, Mike Kelly. Why not use the men's own words?My biggest complaint is what you won't find here... details of the cars themselves.Aside from a nice production total which finally answers who made how many, and where, most technical details: engines, performance specifications and importantly, prices are missing. A few answers are tucked away in ads and company literature pieces that have been reproduced (often too small) but I think he could have made a stronger effort to help the reader place the Avanti in the general automotive world. Later versions are noting as being produced on Monte Carlo, Caprice, Firebird and Mustang chassis. I would have like to learn how those were accomplished. Did the factory arrange to buy chassis and drivetrains...or did they have to buy a entire car and "throw away" the original bodies? Hull mentions that there were several donor-car proposals for the late 1990s AVX project. It would have been nice to see them. They have been published in a recent issue of the Avanti magazine, so I know they're out there.Most photos are reproductions of factory pieces. Unfortunately, nearly all the shots of the Studebaker cars (which make up the majority of the total Avanti population) are limited to a pair of prototype cars. They are interesting to see the, but six pages of the same two cars? Sadly, no new photos of the 63-64 cars are included which would help the casual reader learn to what extent the original cars are lovingly maintained and restored by faithful owners. Also, factory production shots of the Studebaker -era cars are missing along with details of advertising. The factory record setting effort is mentioned only in passing.If you want to learn a technical history of the car, I'd recommend "Avanti Limited Edition Extra" a collection of old and new magazine tests and articles complied and published by Brooklands in the United Kingdom and a subscription to the Avanti Magazine published by the Avanti Owners Association International.So, it's a nice book for an Avanti owner or fan to have. But a newcomer to the car will only be getting half of the history for the car that won't die.

An excellent book about the Studebaker Avanti. If you love them like I do you'll want a copy of this book. Excellent pictures. Get both editions by the same author.

John Hull is an Avanti afficionado who was intimately involved with one of the most recent efforts to revive this marque. The numerous color photos of the various incarnations of this Raymond Loewy design will appeal to the Avanti enthusiast as well as to anyone who wants to "see" the evolution of this sleek, 'glas-bodied classic. The text is both accurate and concise, presenting a balanced view of the history of the car that has far outlived its parent company, the Studebaker Corporation.Each successive chapter discusses the evolution of the Avanti beginning with its Studebaker origins, through the stewardship by Newman & Altman, Kelly, Cafaro, Bunting, and Seaton - culminating with the 2006 transition to Cancun, Mexico and the arrest of Mike Kelly on Federal charges related to his hotel businesses.The production data from 1962-2007 is the most comprehensive and accurate compilation ever offered. Overall, this is an excellent overview of the fascinating history of this American classic.

"The Complete Story" may be a bit misleading if you're an Avanti fan looking for the complete story. If the photos were removed from the 126 page book, the reader would be left with about 35 pages of text to tell the complete 45 year story. Not that the pictures aren't interesting, many are quite nice, rare, and unusual. Avanti fans will enjoy them. The text, however, tends to ramble in places, lacks insight into important aspects of the Avanti's history, and leaves the reader, at least this one, wanting more. Perhaps, "Avanti A Brief Overview With Pictures" would have been a better title. That said, it was probably worh the Amazon price. I would have been disappointed if I had paid the suggested retail price.

Well done with lots of (historical pictures)

An informative and worthwhile book for anyone interested in Avanties.

It does take you from inception to the end of the Avanti. It stimulated me enough to join the Avanti club and get their quarterly mag.

If you love the Avanti, you'll love this book! Lots of great pictures and details about the changes the car went through over the years.

I used several Adobe Classroom in a book's during my early studies as a designer in school. I always hated them because it never got to the point just drawn out lessons but with no real work or content.The books can be useful for beginners/someone who has never used an Adobe program..advance designers not so much, it can be a complete bore and overdrawn, to say the least ..a lot of unnecessary verbiage..you literally get 3-5 pages on each lesson telling you how to save your document or name your layers or explaining basic stuff like “this is how you draw a circle selecting the shape tool in the toolbar” or “this is how you select the type tool".. like Really?!! Anyone who uses Adobe knows the tools are relatively the same across each platform ..yes some do have special tools but drawn out explanations on how to use the type tool or how to create a square selecting the shape tool are not necessary.Most of the tools and menus are self-explanatory and takes away from the lesson..once you finally read through and get to the lesson it’s drawn out to an additional 5 pages of something simple like how you place an image on the stage and nothing much beyond that.Honestly, I learned way more watching online tutorials via other websites for FREE than reading through this book in a short amount of time compared to the time it takes me to get through this book.Disappointed...

Even though I knew most of the basics of the software, I wanted to really dig in and find out the recommended procedures for things. It was a great support tool and refresher. The only setback I had was that I never got the same results as the book for the IK bones section, which is what I really got it for. To learn the puppet procedures. But, outside of that it's clear, concise and easy to follow.

good book, didn't know much about animation but the book made it easier but still takes over and over again sometimes

The book was rough looking but it got the job done.

The lessons is the book helps learn the mechanics of how to use Animate. I reduce it by one star because I could not open the lessons for Chapter 3. Highly recommended.

Bought this as a supplement to the book required for my class. I have learned more by reading this and doing the exercises on my own than I have from the required text. I like the pacing and way that the various chapters are split subject wise. Would recommend to anyone trying to learn Animate.

Exactly what I needed

I love that it is also available off line, in case i'm on the road without internet connection. It also has the link to download the classroom assignments.

I should not have worried! This series is truly something unique, while still keeping to the things we love about all Immortal highlanders. In this series we get to discover what the story is behind the mysterious heavily muscled and large statured guards of Galan's Moss Dapple Druid Clan. Galan, you may remember, is the brutal and abusive biological father of Ruadri, shaman of the Skaraven Clan, who holds his son accountable for the death during childbirth of his Pritani love. You may also remember that when Bhaltair Flen visits this clan, their home hidden behind an illusion of a waterfall, he wonders about their large protectors, who bear more of a resemblance to the Scaravens and the Pritani than the slighter bodied druids. He took Jenna back to Ruadri'sfather, Galan who had her locked up. Both Domnall and Jenna bored the same tattoos which was a mystery.However, they seem to know each other but it comes in spurts in their dreams.Jenna escaped and told Domnall and his men the truth about Galan and his deception. Jenna had a surprisegift which she will have to keep a secret until she feels it is safe to reveal it to Domnall. Jenna life is in danger andDomnall will do everything to keep her safe or will he.The attraction between Domnall and Jenna were absolutely undeniable.I don't want to give too much away but I definitely recommend this book to all my friends.I can't wait for the next installment.I received a free copy of this book from the author and chose to voluntarily leave a review.

Once I started this adventure there was no putting the the book down.Jenna had only one thought in her head my name is Jenna Cameron that was all she had to hold onto because she awoke in Scotland naked with no other memories. It was a good thing that Domnall found her. He couldn't believe his eyes because it was the same spot 12 centuries before he and his men awoke and she had his same glyphs on her back as he had on his arm.His people had once been the pritani and had battle spirits to guide them . But one they were taken they battle spirits, there origami marks, there people. Now they have these's glyphs and done know how they got them or what they mean.The druids tell them only the gods couldWow what a story and new bad guys! I loved it it's full of action, mystery, drama, and so much more. The characters are so amazing you can't help but just fall into the story.It's a must read! Don't miss itVoluntarily reviewed a copy and I honestly loved it.

A new series from Hunter and just as good as the first Skaraven Clan series. Wonderful characters. Not completely sure of plot. Really hope there will be a connection between first and second series beyond what Hunter has offered so far. Can't wait till April 10th for second book.

I could not put this book down. An exciting new experience. I as led down an unexpected path and loved every minute. I immediately ordered the next book in this series and can't wait for it to arrive. I am immediately starting a second reading as it is that good.

I’ve read several of Hazel Hunters’ time travel series and have enjoyed them all. She grabs her audience, sucks them in until the end and leaves them wanting more. As usual I’ll be getting the rest of this series too. Very enjoyable read.

The story was interestingly enough, but very confusing with going back and forth from one realm to another and person to person in different setting and thoughts.

Characters were likeable. Plot line started slow but got better. Since it was the first book in the series I expect a bit more development and backstory to set up the rest of the series. All in all I enjoyed it and looking forward to reading the next one.
