I flew to Lanzarote and back with RyanAir. I read everything carefully, met all the conditions, and still found the flight was only marginally cheaper than my usual airline. But the aggressive ethos of the airline, the way we were treated as money pots, the hard seats, the stampede to the plane to get seats together - by the time we were actually on the plane for the outward journey we had already decided never to fly Ryanair again. On the flight back numerous passengers, including me, were stopped and made to put our hand baggage into the size checking rack. I had to remove my spectacle case from a pocket on the side of my hand luggage to pass yet other passengers were allowed through carrying multiple shopping bags in addition to their one allowed item. We have just booked Christmas in Lanzarote - guess who we are not flying with.
